SW5e : Clone Wars

During the Clone Wars, the Galactic Republic established a small research outpost on Hoth to test cold-weather gear and evaluate operations in extreme conditions. Staffed by scientists and engineers, it focused on environmental studies rather than military engagement. The base was short-lived and abandoned after testing. Later, the Rebel Alliance rediscovered the site and repurposed it, establishing Echo Base during the Galactic Civil War, utilizing the remaining infrastructure and natural defenses.

The base features crumbling ice structures, abandoned equipment, and frozen tunnels, with the remnants of Republic insignia barely visible beneath layers of frost.
