Description

Arachnomorphs, distant, post-Conjunction cousins of common spiders, lurk in deep, dark caves and sodden swamps, striking terror into the hearts of wandering souls. With their long, segmented bodies and multiple appendages, they exhibit a predatory grace that belies their immense size. These stealthy hunters prefer solitude but will emerge with deadly intent when provoked or hungry. A chance encounter can lead to a swift demise, as even the fastest creatures struggle to escape their grasp.

Actions

Bite

Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d10 + 4) piercing damage. If the target is grappled, it must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 minute.

Claw

Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 4) slashing damage.

Multiattack

The Arachnomorph makes two attacks: one with its Bite and one with its Claw.

Swallow

The Arachnomorph makes one Bite attack against a Medium or smaller target it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. The swallowed target is blinded and restrained, it takes 21 (6d6) acid damage at the start of each of the Arachnomorph's turns. If the Arachnomorph takes 30 damage or more on a single turn from a creature inside it, the Arachnomorph must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate the swallowed creature, which falls prone in a space within 10 feet of the Arachnomorph.
