Description
Nightwraiths exude an immense sadness and despair, haunting the rural landscapes where they thrive. They are often perceived as mournful figures, with their pale, withered appearance evoking pity rather than fear. Yet, this spectral creature is far from harmless; it can consume the life essence of the living with terrifying effectiveness, preying on unsuspecting travelers and slumbering peasants alike. Though they typically remain immaterial, their ability to materialize for brief moments can mean certain doom for those caught in their path.

Create Projections
The nightwraith creates 1d4 illusory projections of herself. These projections cannot attack, but when a creature within 30 feet of the nightwraith takes damage, she may use her reaction to teleport to the projection's location and gain temporary hit points equal to half the damage taken.
Incorporeal Movement
The nightwraith can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. She takes 5 (1d10) force damage if she ends her turn inside an object.
Life Drain
The nightwraith reaches out with her spectral hand to sap the life force from a living creature within 5 feet. The target must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 2d8 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. The nightwraith regains hit points equal to the damage dealt.
