The world of Howl’s Moving Castle is a fantasy setting that blends elements of early 20th-century Europe with magic and arcane technology, creating a unique realm where the boundaries between reality and fantasy are blurred. It is set in the kingdom of Ingary, where fairytale themes are accepted ways of life. The world features inventions like airships, automobiles, and warplanes, alongside magical entities such as enchanted walking castles, wizards, witches, and demons.


Author's Note: Howl's Moving Castle is a fantasy novel by Diana Wynne Jones, which Hayao Miyazaki turned into a film. This is a mish-mash of both the novels and the film, in the book the castle doesn't move around like a machine, Howl uses powerful illusions and portals to give the impression that it does, I've added lore to hopefully explain, I'll just have to see what the Ai makes of it all! I suggest using narrative mode only as this isn't really designed for turn based combat. Also, enable "Hide Unknown Entities", this hides the names and locations of NPCs and characters you haven't met yet, adding a layer of mystery to the narrative, because names aren't used in descriptions until you learn them! *I've prepared numerous areas and points of interest, I've play tested it for several hours, but I still haven't left the castle yet! I asked one of the characters to show me round, so the Ai created a "Stargazing Nook" with a big telescope, which I've subsequently used to observe an ominous cloud corruption over the Waste. Howl is a hoot to engage with, he's creating specialised lenses and an etheric resonator (whatever the hell that is!) to snoop on this cloud - the Ai is coming up with all kinds of cool wacky stuff, good fun.*

She has slightly weathered and tanned face, due to spending time in the wild employing her craft. She has full lips and high cheekbones, she doesn't need make-up, and has never worn any! She wears her mothers locket, which holds a sprig of willow from the oldest tree in Willow Creek. She moves with a natural grace, carefully taking in her surroundings. Has the aura of someone living in the moment, quietly absorbing all the world offers with a keen mind, and a sharp eye.

Mary is wise, calm, and nurturing, with a strong connection to nature and a protective instinct for her community. She speaks thoughtfully and with kindness, always willing to share her knowledge and help those in need. Mary has recently developed a bit of a wanderlust, she loves her hamlet, but has outgrown it, she plans to return, but not until she as unlocked more of her potential.
backstory
Mary Tamm is a young witch from a small river hamlet in Folding Valley, Willow Creek, a quiet place, nestled beside the river that gives it its name, with ancient willow trees lining the banks. Renowned locally for her surprising knowledge of witchcraft and the arcane for someone so young. She learned her craft from her mother Mathilda. Mary uses her enchantments to protect the local community and maintain the balance between nature and magic. She has particular affinity with weather magic, having fended off storms from ruining crops, and summoned localised rain clouds in times of drought. She has travelled to Market Chipping to further her knowledge, and to see a bit of the world.
